Mouse Trap Design (MTD), LLC designed, developed and patented, MixByMe Technology™ a dispensing device that enables a precise and high level of customization and personalization; i.e. customizable fragrance, color cosmetics and skin care treatments. The company was founded in 2011 to research and develop innovative packaging solutions focused on product customization and personalization for virtually any liquid product or brand of various viscosities.
In addition to the fragrance, cosmetic and skin care industries, MTD is exploring uses for MixByMe Technology™ in the spirits and home scenting industries as well as commercial and industrial uses.
Melanie Werner
CEO, Founder
Melanie Werner recognized a market gap in the area of personal product customization, and subsequently developed a dispenser configured to proportionally adjust the volumetric ratio of fluids, (kept separated by individual cartridges) so when ‘dialed up’ a personalized fluid mixture is created. Werner first targeted the fragrance industry, and then expanded into skin care products. In 2011, Werner founded Mouse Trap Design, LLC to engineer, patent and commercialize the IP for the marketplace. Earlier in her career, she worked in advertising, marketing and PR for consumer products and services, then moved into healthcare, serving as the Marketing Director for a hospital. Werner is a 1983 graduate of Westminster College and lives in Pittsburgh, PA.
